    Pointers On Testosterone Replacement Therapy
Building muscles, dropping a few pounds, increasing energy levels, improving mood, and boosting sex drive... that's a pretty diverse and attractive set of effects. The really impressive thing is that they can all be attributed to a single, natural substance. Not only that, but it's produced by your own body! That substance is testosterone. Of course, as we age, all of these things begin to falter. Physique declines, energy drops, and often we just find ourselves less enthusiastic while going about our daily tasks. As for declining sex drive... well, is it at all surprising that things like Viagra are so popular among older men?

You might wonder how this could happen. After all, shouldn't your body produce enough testosterone to satisfy your needs? Well, in early life, it produces plenty. In our teens and early twenties, it surges through our body, helping many of us to develop youthful, athletic physiques, constant energy, and constant sexual desire. After about age 30 though, this production begins dropping each and every year.

As one of the most important hormones in your system, testosterone governs a number of systems. Low levels of testosterone are linked to general lack of energy and mood disorders including depression, and excessive anger. Additionally, testosterone plays a dramatic role in your physique, causing your body to pack on more muscle and store less fat. It's no wonder that so many of us pack on that spare tire as we get older.

One of the most basic ways to deal with low testosterone is through diet and exercise. Besides reducing body fat, (a substance which directly reduces your testosterone levels,) the exercise itself will cause your body to produce more testosterone. If incorporated in a daily routine, you can highly reduce the amount of testosterone your body converts to estrogen.

You might be surprised to learn that having healthy cholesterol (both "good" and "bad) is important to produce enough testosterone. The key here is that you want to raise your HDL, or "good" cholesterol. In itself, cholesterol and diet is a huge topic. A couple basic measures you can take though are to find a good quality fish oil supplement, which will help generate HDL cholesterol, and of course make sure to take a basic multivitamin daily, at the least. Through these simple steps, you can be sure your body has the basic building blocks necessary to produce testosterone.

Testosterone is probably one of the single most beneficial substances produced by your body, and it's decline plays a large part in the deterioration of aging. Increasing your testosterone levels can have dramatic effects on your health and your overall wellbeing. Being aware of this gradual decline, and taking steps to counteract it, including testosterone replacement therapy are simple, and highly beneficial.
